Flemish Climate Policy Plan 2006-2012

Meeting the reduction targets arising form the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol is the first, but important step towards a long-term climate policy. Flanders will meet its Kyoto targets with the implementation of the Flemish Climate Policy Plan 2006-2012 (pdf, 1.6MB). In order to meet ambitious targets, the contribution from every sector in society is needed in combating climate change. The plan therefore provides measures for each of these sectors.

To allow efficient follow up by the Flemish Government, the 2006-2012 Flemish Climate Policy Plan (2006-2012 FCPP) provides for yearly progress reports that give an account of the state of affairs of the Flemish climate policy. These progress reports have not been translated into English, but to provide English information for those who are interested in the Flemish climate policy, a brochure was made of the 2008 Progress Report (published in May 2009) of the 2006-2012 FCPP. The brochure "The 2006-2012 Flemish Climate Policy Plan - Progress Report (May 2009)" (pdf, 2.06 Mb, 32 pp.) is a summary of that Progress Report. It gives an account of the state of affairs on the 8^th of May 2009.
