Conference: Soil remediation and soil sealing

The conference is part of the European Commission's work in implementing the Soil Thematic Strategy (COM(2006) 231) it adopted in 2006. It aims to highlight the importance of tackling soil contamination at an early stage and the opportunities created in the European remediation industry. Moreover, it will underline how addressing contaminated sites and brownfields can be helpful in limiting land take and soil sealing on fertile agricultural land. At the conference the Commission will present its Soil Sealing Guidelines that are being finalised. These guidelines are part of the Soil Thematic Strategy and will contribute to achieving the land take target proposed in the Roadmap to a Resource Efficient Europe (COM(2011) 232.

Greenweek

The 12th edition of Green Week, the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, will take place from 22 to 25 May 2012 in Brussels. This year's theme is "Water". Together with the Green Week sessions and workshops, there will be an exhibition with 52 stands about green business solutions, NGO activities, local and regional authorities, European and international bodies, etc. A dedicated LIFE area will showcase LIFE Environment projects.

Eindsymposium Interreg-Project BodemBreed

BodemBreed startte begin 2009 en loopt stilletjes aan ten einde. De 'oogst' van 3 jaar onderzoek wordt geïnventariseerd en samengevat.
BodemBreed zal op feestelijke wijze afgesloten worden op 30 mei te Landen. Op dit slotmoment zullen zowel resultaten bekend gemaakt worden als gedemonstreerd worden hoe in de praktijk de bodem te beschermen. We hopen u te mogen ontmoeten!

9de CIW Waterforum: De verdoken schakel in het waterbeleid.

Sediment samen aanpakken biedt vele kansen
Tijdens het forum zullen toonaangevende sprekers uit Nederland en Vlaanderen aantonen dat er wel degelijk een positief toekomstbeeld mogelijk is voor sediment. Het is een verdoken schakel die, als we er maar samen aan werken, een heleboel aspecten binnen het waterbeleid positief zal beïnvloeden.
